Koni struts: Their quality is legendary, and the yellow "Sport" shock is dearly loved in our community. The newest version of the Koni Yellows for Subaru WRX comes as a set of complete replacement struts for easier install. No more sawing open your old strut cartridges!
Installation notes: The rear strut tops will have to be drilled out to accommodate the larger diameter of the strut shaft. Use a 12mm drill bit. Also, be sure the rear spring perch is correctly oriented down over the circlip on the strut body. THIS IS IMPORTANT! The groove in the perch should fit exactly over the circlip. If the rear perch is upside down, the circlip will be free to expand under load and the perch could fall down the body of the strut. See photos.
Note 2: These struts are modeled after the 2008-2010 WRX shock body, which has a lower front perch than the 2011-2014 WRX. Installing these on a 2011-2014 WRX will lower the ride height in front by about 1/2". (We suggest a 1/2" front strut spacer to make things level.)

Set of four struts. Fits all 2008-2014 Subaru WRX.
Koni struts, pretty straight forward install. Front end drops a tad from stock for 2011+ years I believe, looks to be about 1/2", used with stock springs on a 2013 wrx hatchback. I'd recommend aftermarket springs with progressive rates to really improve the ride on rough terrain. Maybe a slight lift up front or lower in the rear for more balanced stance, but it looks and rides fine to my taste.
The Koni yellows were fairly straightforward to install. The only modification necessary was to drill out the hole on the rear strut mounts a little. The second time removing them to install the Cobb springs took about 2 hours from wheels off to the car back on the ground. The struts alone improved handling quite a bit as the car felt more stable during cornering while the daily ride quality was only slightly affected. Coupled with aftermarket springs the car feels amazing on and off the track on the right dampening settings for each situation. My only complaint, which is really a non-issue, is that the dampening adjustment knobs are removable so its slightly inconvenient to keep track of them compared to other coilovers where they are basically built in. Instructors at the HPDEs have actually been pretty surprised how good the car feels and how well it performs with such a simple upgrade.
