As you may already know, the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX and STI cars are prone to problems with the mounting of the clutch pedal and master cylinder to the firewall. The connection to the firewall consists of small spot welds, and the firewall metal itself is very thin. Over time, the spot welds break and the pedal/master cylinder starts to move relative to the firewall. This can lead to squeaking noises upon clutch engagement, and as things get worse it can lead to failure of the pedal assembly and/or inability to disengage the clutch.
The Mach V Clutch Master Cylinder Brace reduces flexing of the firewall, which can reduce the likelihood of the spot welds breaking, and can stiffen up the area even if some of the welds have already broken.
The brace consists of a thick piece of CNC-milled aluminum, anodized black so it looks great and will stay looking great. The kit includes high-grade hardware to install the brace. The brace has three mechanical points of contact to the chassis, plus an additional stopper to further brace the firewall.
